About the Artist:
Ben Venom is best known for taking imagery from traditional craft arts and juxtaposing it with modern imagery that draws attention to the fringes of society. Venom, who coined his name in the Georgia punk scene of the ’90s when he was an admirer of bands such as Slayer, Metallica, and Fugazi, subverts gender stereotypes by working in a traditionally female sphere. Ben lives and works in San Francisco.
